Bridging the Gap Between Old School Wisdom and New World Tech

I started my first business in South Africa at 23 as a goldsmith, crafting jewelry from raw metal and gems. My (then) husband handled sales; I stayed behind the scenes. Until we divorced. Suddenly, I was in charge of everything: customers, cash flow, decisions. I wasn't thrilled... until I realized something unexpected: I could actually do it all. And better. Turns out divorce can be an excellent career accelerator.
That business thrived for 19 years, but looking back, I realized I had a secret weapon I didn't fully understand at the time.
In my 30s, I bought my first PC. While my friends were intimidated by technology, I was fascinated. It just clicked for me. To me, technology was never a barrier—it was a lever.
In that moment, I saw the truth: I was a 'Tech Native' in a 'Wisdom Generation' body.
While fellow jewelry designers complained about 'computer problems,' I was figuring out how to bend the machine to my will. This unique combination—old-school craftsmanship plus digital fluency—would eventually become the foundation of everything I teach today.
Eventually, the bench work took its toll on my eyes, and my curiosity pulled me elsewhere. So I did what any reasonable person would do: packed everything up, moved to San Diego, and became... a financial advisor. (Logic optional, persistence required.)

❝ Sofia is an exceptional Financial Planner and coach, because she understands that one’s psychological point of view fundamentally influences one’s financial decisions and quality of life as well.❞

When I Learned That the Script Doesn’t Work
For the first nine months as a financial advisor, I followed the company script and made a whopping $9,000. Not exactly retirement fund material. One particularly dismal day, I thought, "This is nonsense." I tossed the sales scripts, started speaking like an actual human, and everything shifted. I stopped "selling" and started solving.
The next year, I became the top advisor across five branches. Fast forward a few years: I became a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA®) and trained as a mediator, spending years helping couples navigate the financial chaos of divorce.

The Fog, the Pivot, and What I Actually Do
Then I devoured 'The 4-Hour Workweek' (dangerous book), caught the freedom bug, and left financial services to chase the online business dream... just in time for divorce number two at 50. Perfect timing: no income, no plan, and zero interest in a 'normal' job.
Here's what I learned rebuilding—multiple times, across three continents: most people aren't stuck because they lack information. They're stuck because they can't see clearly. There's a fog of thinking—mental clutter, old stories, other people's scripts—that prevents smart, experienced people from seeing what they already have.
And the fix isn't just mindset work. And it isn't just strategy. It's both—because they're inseparable. The woman who can't see her own value will never build something that reflects it. And the person who does the inner work but has no systems, no financial clarity, no practical tools stays stuck in insight without action.
That's what makes me different: I do both. I clear the fog first, then hand people the practical tools to build from that place of clarity.
Between two marriages, painful breakups, and years helping divorcing couples professionally, I learned that most advice—in relationships, in business, in life—is useless theory. What people actually need are practical frameworks for when things are falling apart. That's why I created programs like The Breakup Reset Method and Stop Your Divorce—built from 40+ years of real experience and professional expertise.

❝ Sofia is the best technology consultant I’ve ever hired – I recommend her for any and all technological needs. She is incredibly knowledgeable, efficient, kind, patient and simply a joy to work with! Not only is she an expert in the field of technology consulting, she is also a superb and professional businesswoman with phenomenal consulting acumen.❞

From Money to Tech to Finding My Hidden Authority
After the divorce, I taught myself to build websites, create automations, and demystify technology. When I moved to Oregon, I launched "Tech-Savvy Sofia," helping people (mostly 50+) finally feel comfortable with computers. The business took off like a rocket.
Then life happened again. The kids moved to Tennessee so of course I had to move there too to be near my only family in the US. I tried to take the business online and hit a wall. Here's the thing: I'm not bubbly. I'm never going to dance on Reels. I'm semi-introverted, matter-of-fact, and allergic to hype. In an online world dripping with glitter and noise, I felt like a pragmatist at a unicorn convention.
When the savings dwindled (reality: it always does), I took a job as a 401k administrator. Less than two years later, one of my clients hired me as their Chief of Staff. I still do that job, remotely and efficiently, with the help of well-oiled systems that let me work smarter, not longer.
That's when I discovered my real authority: I was brilliant at taking complex challenges—business, financial, technological, psychological—and stripping them down to simple, workable solutions. All those years of experience hadn't just taught me skills. They'd taught me how to think clearly—and how to help other people do the same.
What I Do Now
I help women 40+ navigating major life transitions rewrite their future with clarity, systems, and strategy—not just positive thinking.
I don't separate the inner work from the practical work, because I've learned they're the same thing. I help you clear the mental fog that keeps you playing small, see the decades of skills you've been undervaluing, and then build something real from that place of clarity—in about 2 hours a day.
Whether it's the thinking that needs untangling or the business that needs building, I've done both. Multiple times.
If that sounds like what you've been searching for, I'm glad you found me.
